Our story
The Bristol Commonwealth Society is committed to racial equality and we work closely with other charities and organisations towards this goal.
Commonwealth House offers a cultural hub where diversity is celebrated in a welcoming environment and where initiatives are developed for the benefit of the wider community. Through talks, art and film we seek to promote dialogue around inclusion and to explore the many cultures, faiths and histories of the modern-day Commonwealth.
We currently engage with the Committee of St Paul’s Carnival, Punjabi Forum International, African Voices Forum, Billy Chip and Gloucestershire County Cricket Club’s Community Partnership, amongst many others. We also offer valuable support to Commonwealth Scholars who are studying in the West Country.
Commonwealth House is available for use by other charities for meetings or events and we always welcome contact from groups with similar values to our own. Follow us on Facebook for our latest projects and activities.
